SHAHEED BENAZIRABAD (NAWABSHAH) -- Sindh Chief Minister will be asked to provide the seed money for the Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences for Women so that work on this project could be initiated soon. This was stated by Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho MNA and Chairperson of Defense Committee of National Assembly while inaugurating the First National Symposium of PUMHSW held here from March 11-12th 2011. She commended the good work being done by Vice Chancellor Prof. Azam Yousufani and his team, faculty members besides the young enthusiastic female doctors. Establishment of this university, she felt will play a vital r ole in promoting medical education and health services in this district and the adjoining areas. She advised the doctors to work hard to be successful. Earlier in his welcome address Prof. Azam Husain Yousufani Vice Chancellor of PUMHSW said that Peoples Medical College for Girls was the gift of late Prime Minister Z.A.Bhutto and so far six thousand doctors have graduated from this institution. There was a time it was difficult to find a female doctor in this area but now in Nawabshah city itself there are more than two hundred doctors. He also disclosed that they have purchased two hundred acres of land for the university at a distance of three Kilometers from the city and now boundary wall is being built. Other construction work will be initiated as soon as the seed money is made available by the government.
